OVERVIEW
Think systems… design human
We are user-centred design and digital transformation specialists. We do painstaking research to truly understand those who’ll use the services we design. We design for everyone. We analyse, use empirical evidence and build the future. We design services that connect to the real world, solving real problems for real people.
Benefits
What’s in our DNA?
Research
You cannot create a great user experience without understanding target users and their needs. Working as part of the wider UCD team, our researchers focus on understanding user behaviours, needs and motivations through a variety of expert techniques.
Service Design
Using a human-centric approach, we design services people need. Design thinking and behavioural insights help us create services that are engaging and connect to the real world. We endeavour to connect with users on an emotional as well as a practical level to enhance their experience.
Business Analysts
All businesses want to run their processes more effectively and be on the lookout to avail new opportunities for improvement. Our highly skilled Business Analysts are well placed to work with you to uncover issues holding your business back and help evaluate options for moving forward.
Design
Design is the confluence of research, analysis, content and process. Following UCD principles, we bring together these core strands to create polished, responsive, accessible designs. We use the same approach whether we’re designing small websites, a complex service or an entire design system.
Content
Content design is about presenting information in the best possible way so that everyone can understand it. We transform the most complex of processes into plain English and easy-to-follow designs. From good content comes good design.
Public Sector
We work closely with public sector clients to understand user needs and create online journeys that meet them. We’re there every step of the way from carrying out research and designing user-friendly services to testing, iterating and building them. With a wealth of GDS experience, we’re able to tackle even the most challenging projects.
THE KERV DIFFERENCE
The Kerv Difference
User Focused
We do extensive research to help us understand our users and their needs. Building personas and identifying mindsets gives a unique insight into how our users think and feel.
Highly collaborative
We thrive in multi-disciplinary teams, working alongside product owners, solution architects, subject matter experts and other stakeholders. We share and validate our work frequently.
Evidence based
We design based on empirical evidence from user research. Everything in our designs must solve problems for users and satisfy user needs.
Agile
We follow agile principles. We create research-based designs, test, evaluate and iterate again. It’s equally important for us to find out what doesn’t work so we can effectively design what does.
Accessible
We design for everyone. Accessible design is good design and we need to ensure we can reach all our users, no matter what their accessibility needs.
Designing simplicity
Services should be easy to use. We focus on understanding the process and doing the analysis. We find simple solutions for complex problems and do the heavy lifting so our users don’t have to.
Our experts.
